Kenya’s dynamic capital – Nairobi has much to see and do. You will be picked up from your Nairobi Hotel for a sightseeing tour with a visit to the Railway Station, Museum, Parliament Buildings, City Market and Kenyatta International Conference Centre. A highlight of your tour is the National Museum and Aviary Replete with details of Kenya’s history, folklore, tribal customs and wildlife. Of special interest is the Museum’s Exhibit dealing with prehistoric man, research and discoveries of Dr. Leakey.
NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK/BOMAS OF KEYA
OHA 002 1 DAY
This spectacular park is just a lion’s roar away from the bustling city. You will be picked from your Nairobi Hotel at 9am with a 15 minutes drive to the park in search of the black rhino, lion, cheetah, buffalo and hippo. Lunch will be at the famous Carnivore Restaurant at 1pm. At 2pm, proceed to the Bomas of Kenya, a cultural centre set in a rural environment where you will be entertained by traditional African dances, vividly described for the benefit of the audience. Return to respective hotels will be at 6pm.
KAREN BLIXEN AND THE GIRAFFE MANOR
OHA 003 3 HOURS
The former home of Karen Blixen, authorees of the book ‘Out of Africa’. Departure from your hotel will be at 2pm with a drive towards the Ngong Hills and Karen Blixen’s Estate where you will discover a great deal about her and her life in Kenya in the earlier part of this century. The tour continues to the Giraffe Manor where ‘Daisy’ the famous Rothschild Giraffe can be seen and fet at their home. While you enjoy afternoon tea, you will be updated by one of the centres resident experts on the fierce battle currently underway to prevent the extinction of the Rothschild Giraffe.
